The End of Crosspital and Other Happenings at the June Episode of 40 Story Radio Tower

Hello hello!

"Known for their energetic live shows, the band leave every ounce of adrenaline on the stage floor when they finish a set. Definitely not background music at an uppity wine and dine spot. Think cranked guitar amplifiers sending shockwaves through the air of a massive stadium while the audience bobs up and down on the beer soaked ground." -the 40 Story website, obviously.

This month's post is going to be, admittedly, a short one. I, once again, invite you all out this Thursday, June 25, to the Mauch Chunk Opera House for the June Episode of 40 Story Radio Tower: The Monthly Recorded Live for Podcast Radio Show. The show starts at (roughly, not promptly) 8PM and the doors are open at 7. This month's featured band is Natural Stranger!

We are all incredibly excited to see this amazing band live, and YOU should be too!

Despite all the excitement, its with great sadness that I share with you, my dear few readers, that this month is featuring the finale of Crosspital, a series written by the founder of 40 Story Radio Tower, J. Ferron Hiatt. This will be one of our longest sketches, and probably our most exciting. Find out what happens to Mr. Crumbel, Dee, Disorderly, Nurse, and all of the other zany (well, lets be real, batshit crazy) characters in this thrilling and final installment of Crosspital.

This month's epsiode will also feature a new episode of the hilarious and poignant "Shitmouthtown", as well as poetry, flash fiction, and more. The weather is hot, the acts are hot, you're hot. You've got to see it. And please, my loves, if you've read this article and you do come see it, COME FIND ME. I'll buy you a drink (if you're into that) or just hug you aggressively.

Check us out on Itunes and Stitcher!

Have a gorgeous and wonderful week, and I hope to see you all on Thursday!!!

40 Story Radio Tower and the Long Awaited Return of Spottiswoode & His Enemies!

Hi friends,

Its me again. Which means that a new episode of 40 Story Radio Tower: The Monthly live for podcast Radio Show, is coming up! This month's episode will be performed and recorded THIS THURSDAY(already starting to get carried away with the caps, its been that kind of day), May 21st, 8PM, Mauch Chunk Opera House. I'm going to spare you all of the details, as I write about this every month. But seriously, this is an episode you don't want to miss. Its the first show that features a band we've already had. Like, they actually liked us and WANTED to come back. (Whoa)

Spottiswoode & His Enemies has been described as:  "...a constantly self-reinventing New York institution hosting residencies at rock, folk, lounge and punk venues across the city. Drawing comparisons to everyone from Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Randy Newman to Ray Davies and Nick Cave..." (Quoted from the 40 Story Radio Tower Website.)I speak for both myself, and the rest of our cast and crew, in that we are so incredibly excited and humbled by the return of this great group of individuals to return to our stage.

Besides the band though, this month's sketches include some old favorites such as Shitmouthtown and Crosspital, and some brand spankin new series' premiering live on Thursday night. I'm not going to like or anything, but there's going to be a pretty serious PSA, so get ready for some Sarah Mcglaughlin and some tears.

Seriously though, I'm not going to ramble. Please come check us all out. If you say you read this article I'll even probably maybe buy you a drink or a cookie or something.

Meanwhile, please check out 40 Story Radio Tower's social media sites:

Episode 14 of 40 Story Radio Tower!

Hello my lovelies!

Its that time of month again, when I update you on the month's performance of 40 Story Radio Tower, the monthly recorded live for podcast radio show! This month's performance will be (as always) at the Mauch Chunk Opera House THIS THURSDAY, April 23rd at 8:00PM (Doors open at seven.)This months band is the Barefoot Movement! This critically acclaimed band features a mixture of blue-grass, country, folk, and rock and roll.

And now for the moment in my articles where I horribly summarize some of our featured sketches this month this month in one sentence or less. (Because I'm pretty sure I lose you guys after one sentence anyway.)

Crosspital: Mr. Crumbel finds himself entrapped (quite literally) by the snare of Nurse and the drug-happy Disorderly. Look out for those dashing musical numbers.

Shitmouthtown: Mariska Mariskovya, the heroine of this tale, finds solace in an unlikely ally in her newest home of Shitmouthtown. Is there hope for her yet?

Dollar-a-Caller: We meet again our infamous radio host, Kelly, in his attempt to reinstate the Dollar-a-Caller show, the call in show that allows customers to sell their items on air.

Any items...

Grudge Coach: Are you too nice? Do you often often let go of grudges too easily? Well my friends, do we have the man for you!

We have another super fun new series coming up this month, but if I say  the title, it won't be any fun.

This month also features poetry by Michael Newton and Rebecca York Moll!

Again, credit to 40 Story Radio Tower
So, I'll keep this short and sweet: Come on out this Thursday night. Its been decided that this is literally our most disgusting (in a good way, of course) show to date, so obviously it will be the most fun. For $10.00 you are provided with the most unique entertainment this area has to offer. (Plus, we're all a lot of fun and if you laugh loud enough, you'll be on a podcast!)
There is a free beatboxing performance by myself, Kyle, and Keith after every show!

Have a wonderful month everyone, and you'll be hearing from me soon!

The 40 Story Radio Tower One Year Anniversary Show

Part of the cast reviewing lines an hour before the show.
Guess which one I am?
Hello hello hello!

Its me again, and I'm here to tell you all about an exciting upcoming event. On March 26th, 40 Story Radio Tower (You know, the Live for Podcast Radio Show) Will be holding its 1 Year Anniversary performance! I am so honored and excited to be a part of this creative, intelligent, and wonderfully funny cast and am astounded that we have been working on this for an entire year.

This episode will take place (as always) at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe, PA at 8PM (Doors open at 7PM). Tickets reservations can be called in and are also available at the door. Unfortunately, even when you're behind the scenes (and the stage manager is one of your BFFs), you don't have all the answers. And unfortunately, I do not know who the band for the March episode is. This piece of information remains a mystery, but never fear, there has not been a band that has let us down yet!

To rehearse or to pose?

Since it is our special One Year Anniversary show, many of the acts are to remain a surprise. However, since I'm horrible at keeping secrets (obviously) I'm here to give you the scoop on what to expect on this month's episode:
  • Crosspital: The administrator has arrived at Crosspital to investigate the troublesome activities of Mr. Crumbel. How will the staff react when this beckoning beam of authority infiltrates the secretive walls of the infamous ward?
  • Shitmouthtown: Newly employed dentist Mariska Marskovya begins her first day on the job in the little city of Shitmouthtown. Not only does the town seem hesitant about dentistry, they are downright hostile. They also have a disgusting, horrible habit. What is a dentist to do?
Now, I can't just give everything away, can I?

To be honest, we are a constantly evolving group, and we are even surprised what we come up with, so to summarize this month's episode is just downright difficult. I encourage you all to join us on March 26th. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll probably feel things you never felt nor wanted to ever feel in the entirety of existence.....but you'll laugh.

We're so much fun we can't even handle it.

Also, since I'm starting to figure out this blogging thing more and more each day, here are some links to a few of 40 Story's social medias:

ITunes

See you on the 26th!!!!
